16-UNIT CONDOMINIUM BUILDING

Facing Mary Benson Park and infilling an empty edge of Jersey City's Village neighborhood, this 30,000 sf residential building has 16 two-bedroom, two bath apartments with16 parking spaces and a common roof deck with views out over Downtown Jersey City.

This project faces an early 20th-century school building and references the large windows of the classrooms with wall to wall, almost floor to ceiling windows for the living/dining rooms, and the smaller windows of the school's support spaces for those in the bedrooms. The First Floor features exposed concrete that reflects the base of the school and the neighborhood's 19th Century fabric, which was mostly of clapboard siding.
